Lord Howard of Lympne said: “Climate change is an issue for all governments, so I welcome David Cameron’s decision to join more than 100 other world leaders at the UN climate summit later this month. The Prime Minister is to be commended for continuing a long tradition of Conservative Party leadership on climate change."

“The Prime Minister’s commitment in attending the UN climate summit is to be warmly applauded", said Dr Camilla Toulmin, director of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). "Science, economics and morality all indicate that a new global agreement to constrain emissions is urgently needed, and UK leadership will be a crucial ingredient in securing such an agreement.”

The UN Climate Summit 2014 will take place on 23 September in New York. The Summit, which was convened by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, will be the first time in five years that Heads of State such as President Obama will be gathering to discuss climate change: http://www.un.org/climatechang...
