Commenting on the Government's new clean energy jobs plan [1] Alasdair Johnstone from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) said:

"In places likes Humberside and Teesside, it’s net zero jobs in clean industries like offshore wind that are bringing the wealth and the growth. The UK’s net zero economy is growing three times faster than the economy as a whole. [2]

"Be it installing heat pumps or manufacturing EVs all these industries will need skilled workers for decades to come. With the world only going in one direction on clean energy, the risk is political signals that deter investment, leaving us with industries of the past as we saw when the British car industry failed to modernise in the 70s and 80s."
