Commenting on the news that the Rampion 2 Offshore Wind Farm off the Sussex coast has been consented by the Government [1], Jess Ralston, analyst at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU)said: "Every wind turbine we build means more British power that lessens the influence of people like Putin on our energy bills. Reducing our dependence on foreign gas, which will increasingly come from abroad as the North Sea continues its inevitable decline, means greater price stability and energy independence. This is how we will shield households from a future crisis like today's, which has cost the UK £140bn in wholesale gas alone."
