Mr Stuart said that he remained keenly interested in policy issues around energy and climate change, and said that ECIU makes an important and valuable contribution to the debate.

Commenting, ECIU director Richard Black praised Graham Stuart’s commitment to promoting evidence-based policy making on climate change and thanked him for his support.

“Graham has been an invaluable member of ECIU’s Advisory Board from our launch, and his knowledge, experience and commitment will be sorely missed. Both in the UK Parliament and through his work with GLOBE he has been a tireless advocate of effective policy responses for addressing the challenge posed by climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy. We wish him all the best in his new role.”
