Commenting on energy efficiency measures in the Autumn Statement:
Jess Ralston, Senior Analyst at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) said: “The bill payer is clearly a loser from this budget. The government isn’t delivering on its manifesto commitment on energy efficiency during a cost-of-living crisis when bills are set to rise for millions to £3,000 come April. For those struggling through this winter and the next, investment in insulation in 2025 is two years too late.” [1]
Commenting on vehicle excise duty being added to electric cars:
Colin Walker, Transport Lead at ECIU said: "This may well give sales a knock at a time when UK manufacturers are looking to ramp up EV production, but electric cars will still remain two to three times cheaper on average to run." [2]
