Commenting on the results of the Scottish election, Laura Anderson, Senior Associate at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) said:
"Top of the voters' list of concerns going into this election was the cost of living, and energy, food and fuel the key worries. All of these are being largely driven by two oil and gas price crises in the space of a few years combined with climate change damaging food supplies.
"Interestingly, there are now slightly more pro-net zero MSPs after this election, net zero meaning burning less oil and gas and so reducing household exposure to volatile markets, but also scientifically the only way to stop climate change."
