Bim Afolami MP joins advisory board of Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit

Mr Afolami is the Member of Parliament for Hitchin and Harpenden and first elected in 2017. Since he has taken a particular interest in energy and decarbonisation, chairing the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Renewable and Sustainable Energy and net zero champion for the APPG for Fair Business Banking. He is also Vice Chair (Youth) for the Conservative Party.

On his joining Bim Afolami said:

I am very excited to join the ECIU advisory board and I am proud to support the organisation in their vital work to provide expertly researched, scientifically robust intelligence reports on climate and energy. There are no two issues more relevant today for our environment, our economy and for public health.

With rising energy prices driven by volatility in the global supply and price of gas, it is even more important that our entire energy system transitions to net zero. The team at the ECIU are leaders in producing fact-based analysis to penetrate the noise and inform the decisions of policy makers and the public that will impact many generations to come. To this end, I heartily look forward to contributing to this admirable and important work.
