Commenting on news that sales of EVs in Europe rose by 14% in January [1] Colin Walker, Head of Transport at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU), said:
"Unsurprisingly, recent claims that the EV transition is 'flatlining' have proven rather premature. Sales of battery electric cars in Europe are clearly continuing to rise, providing cheaper, cleaner motoring to drivers.
"Attempting to slow the transition by changing the policy goalposts risks putting the British and European car industries at a competitive disadvantage as the global drive towards EVs speeds up, putting the industry’s future in jeopardy."
